The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance with any information regarding the theft of $45,000 through a lottery scam.
On October 20th, the victim was approached at a store in the 2300 block of E. Arapahoe Road by a woman who said she needed help to claim a lottery prize. A second male suspect approached saying he would assist. The male suspect called a number on the woman’s “lottery ticket,” and after speaking on the phone, said he would be right back with money to help the woman claim her lottery prize. The victim, a 60-year old woman, also agreed to help.
After the man returned with cash, the three drove to a bank where the victim withdrew $45,000 from her bank account. The two suspects then drove off with the victim’s cash.
The first suspect is a Hispanic female, approximately 5’6”. The second suspect is a Hispanic male between 5’9” – 6’0”. They were last seen in a white SUV.
