CONGRESSMAN COFFMAN DROPS HIS DISCHARGE PETITION
— CANDIDATE AARESTAD MAKES STATEMENT
Aurora, CO — After meeting with Republican Speaker Paul Ryan, Congressman Mike Coffman withdrew his discharge petition to force a vote on the BRIDGE Act, breaking his promise to support over 800,000 dreamers anxiously awaiting a solution to President Trump’s recent decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Coffman challenger, David Aarestad made the following statement:
Time and again Coffman grandstands to confront Democrats, but doesn’t have the drive to stand up to his own party. He showed genuine leadership for a couple days. It’s a shame he didn’t have the drive to see it through. Our Dreamers, our community and our country deserve better. — Aarestad
David Aarestad grew up in Arapahoe County and is a proud product of Cherry Creek Public Schools. He still resides in the district, living in Aurora, Colorado with his wife Karen and their two children Sofia and Brynn.
Election Day is November 6, 2018.
