Adams seeks public comment on polling places, drop boxes
BRIGHTON — The Adams County Clerk & Recorder’s Office wants public input on Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) and 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box locations for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
“Allowing time for public comment on our voting centers is a key part of our process,” says Adams County Clerk & Recorder Josh Zygielbaum. “We want to ensure all registered voters in the county have access to a variety of locations to cast their ballots.”
While all voters in Colorado receive a ballot by mail, Colorado law requires a minimum number of Voter Service and Polling Centers be operated throughout the county. Adams County currently has 23 proposed VSPC sites and 28 drop box locations for the 2022 General Election but public input is wanted on the sites, as well as any recommendations for additional VSPC/drop box locations.
In eastern Adams County, the Bennett Motor Vehicle Office, 355 S. First St., will host a VSPC on Election Days as well as a drop box, and additional drop boxes will be set up at Strasburg Sheriff’s Substation, 2550 Strasburg Road, and Kelver Public Library, 585 S. Main St., Byers.
At VSPCs, voters can cast a ballot in person, use accessible voting equipment, replace a ballot, drop off a mail ballot, register to vote, and update their voter registration. All VSPC locations have special voting equipment to assist voters with disabilities. Public comment will be taken until June 11. Comments and suggestions for potential and alternative VSPC sites and drop box locations can be e-mailed to or through an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SPW5Q2K
